Exactly all sealer is intended for is a uniform color, does it get used to fill in sand scratches and imperfections temporarily,... You bet it does,..have I used it in that manner,....of course ha it's just what you gotta do sometimes. But don't have to try to necessarily make it solid just nice even coat or two. Sounds like you got a handle on it tho. I'm sure it will jamb up

Guide coat showed a couple low spots so I sprayed them with another couple costs of surfacer.

This time I reduced by 1 so 4:1:1
    Still with 1.4tip
It laid down much better. AND it didn't goop up the gun either!
Still would need the 1.8tip to spray a wider pattern though.

I've got to sand the hood and fenders then this latest spray. After that it's seal etc.

Sanded one half the BS GS hood. I'm exhausted.

Wow there are a LOT of contours to work.

Hoping the patience and extra effort will be worth it. "bad" Ken is telling me to shoot some single stage color on it and be driving in two days......but I'm not listening

Ken, I've been following this thread with great interest. I'm stripping my hood down right now and hope to be in your same spot by sept or oct.

Cant wait to see some pics.

HaHa, dont listen to "bad Ken"

I'm kinda learning as I go so I appreciate everyone's input.

This is my second real full car paint job.

I will post pics when it's done. I've been documenting it all.

Finished sanding the Hood and the fenders today. the hood alone took me 4 hours of sanding to be done.

again, a couple low spots need another shot of hi build.

amazing how the blocks show you every little detail.

On the fenders and the hood, the 1 foot long sanding roller block / cylinder was instrumental in doing a good job following the contours. theres a lot going on there that is hard to just eyeball.

This is pretty much it for the primer surfacer so I will start a last thread about the next steps....sealer, base, clear
