You don't even have to go that fast either! Yesterday some 26 year old broad pulled out in front of my little brother while him and his wife were out for a ride on his Harley, which caused him to crash! He laid the bike down on its right side, when he did that he shifted his body so his wife wouldn't get hurt and it worked because she only had a minor sprained ankle and a couple scrapes and bruises. Unfortunately my brother didn't fair so good, his pelvis is broken and they had to amputee his right leg just below the calf because his foot was to mangled to repair. He is in surgery tonight at the U of M(university of Michigan) hospital to have the leg/foot removed. Then after that is stabilized they will work on his pelvis in a couple of days to get that repaired. Would appreciate your prayers to go out to him for a speedy recovery, thanks.
You got it, Derek. Really sucks how people drive with rectal-cranial inversions. Prayers for both Your Bro and Sis-in-Law.
If you want, I can put you in touch with a vet who lost a leg, and spends a great deal of his time working with everyone who has lost (a) limb(s). He may be a good source for support and such. Hospitals, therapy and such can only go so far before "folks" pick up the reigns and help people help themselves. PM me and I will get the information. Signed; -Former-scooter-trash. (I am too old and have balance issues to ride, so I hung up the leathers a while back.)
Derek, sad deal. Like you needed more on the pile.... prayers and wishes for everything to heal and turn out the best they can.
I realize "it's too soon", but wanted to mention this now, so that if it becomes something that might be useful, it's "tagged" here. Will keep y'all in prayer.
