    HELP!!!
I had it welded and sealed inside and out but my original tank is leaking. having no luck finding a replacement tank under Electra, LeSabre or Wildcat.

I did find a tank for a 65 Impala and it looks right - does anyone know if that will work?

65, 66, and 67 should work, the biggest difference may well be the filler neck. Also look at full-size Pontiac and Olds, the Bonnyville and the 98 from 65-67, they'd have the same tank. The smaller Ventura, Super 88 or Wildcat will probably work, same issue though, the filler neck will be different.
The Chev might be close and might work in a pinch, but I have a feeling it would be too short and too narrow.
So now your search has widened appreciably...Good Luck!

Brother you are the MAN!! I knew there were some years that were interchangeable i just needed someone to verify! The 65 has a extended filler neck that attaches to the tank to take it up to the rear grille so as long as i can find a tank I'm good to go. I'm going to pot in a NOS rather thank trying to seal this one again and like you said i'll add it to the ever growing stock of parts.

Before you order the one for the Impala, I'd make sure to get every measurement you can on it. I'm thinking it'll be a bit short, and it might be a few inches too narrow to fit on your straps. So you'd have to relocate the straps entirely. The full-size Chev was built on a different body family than was the Pontiac, Olds and Buick; in fact it probably takes the same tank as a Riviera would, that would have been built on a similar sized frame.

first off let me just say that i am amazed at the support - Iggycat told me to sign up to V8buick and boy was he right.
i actually looked at this one after getting the advice from Marc, my sending unit is on the other side of the filler neck not on the top. Kinda odd but makes it easier to get to

its amazing, tons of tanks for skylarks and specials and they even look right but no electra, wildcat or lesabre....the search continues as my baby sadly sits outside under cover

There are vendors that will rebuild yours. Before you say that is not adequate, I can tell you that is what we do for lots of aircraft fuel tanks.

Another option is to take detailed pictures and measurements. Send this information to Spectra along with a request for them to look at their inventory for the closest tank they reproduce. It may be close enough for a radiator shop to modify it to fit. I recall reading where another member did this for another model for which tanks are not reproduced.

There should be no surprise about the lack of reproduction of big Buick tanks relative to the smaller models. There is relatively little demand.

not that it is not adequate but the tank was already rebuilt and i just want to put a new one in at this point. Spoke to Spectra and the closest they had was for a skylark and the sending unit locations were all wrong. I may have a hit with Tanks Inc if the measurements work out, these folks were really helpful.
Granted i am relatively new to the tri shield game but i do find it surprising at the lack of support for the big buicks

There is no way a Skylark tank would have the same capacity as an Electra.

Have your local Buick dealer do a national parts search for tank part number 389915. It is for 65 LeSabres, Wildcats and Electras.

If that part number does not register, try 12389915.

The 65' will take at least 95liter/25gallons, doubt the Skylark will take the same :p

Keep your old filler neck which is likely just soldered in place. There is a good chance that it is Buick specific.
