Hi all, I have been really confused and going back and fourth on what size tires to buy. I don't want to screw up the purchase because tires are a big investment for me, cant afford to do it twice. I am running 17x9 Cragars with 4.5 backspacing and 235/55R17's at all for corners. I really like an old school look with 15 inch wheels, a little rake in the rear, and wide's out back, but I also like the wheels I have and don't want to replace them so I am looking for that old school look with my new school wheels. A 275/50R17 is the same height as my current tires but a bit wider, problem is there are only one or two tires made in this size, not sure where to go from here, what looks good? Help me out with some pics if you have them. Thanks, Happy Holidays.
The 275/55's look good Joe. I was nervous about that size, thanks.... 1989GTA what is the aspect ratio on your rear 285's please?
Year one reproduction 17x8 in front 17x9 in back. Don't remember tire size off the top of my head. But they showed my car with their wheels and tire size recommend and had to have! I can check tire size tomorrow and post.
Heres my 17s torque thrust M 10.5 in rear and 9.0 in front. 255 50 rear and not sure on front but are narrower.
Off hand i dont remember. Frts fit perfect rears use a spacer. The wheels came off of a 4th gen camaro
I like the look of Joes 67 wildcat with the 275/55's best. I like a bit more sidewall. I think im going with that size
17x 7 and 17 9.5 225 50 and 275 50 nitto 450 not many make this size, but I wanted a tall tire in the back with some sidewall to fill up the big wheel wells.
I was looking at that size but yes, they are the only ones that make it I think. does not leave many options for fronts. Looks great tho. I am running 245/55's on the front now, I like your combination. looks great!
that looks good man. the more I look at it I relay love the stance. do you by chance know your wheel backspacing or offset?
