Paint recommendations for 1970 GS Stage 1

    There is a small dent in one fender and a scratch in the other one. That combined with enamel paint made me want to repaint it.

    Factory painted hood and fenders off the car. The only proper way in my opinion if you want a concourse job. Paint those panels on the car and you get overspray where it should not be and painted bolts. Very sloppy look.

    Door and trunk bolts get painted. Hood and fender bolts don’t.

    Thanks for the pointers on the bolts. I was plannning to remove the fenders to get the emblems off. I am going to remove the hood as well. My only fear is color match but my painter seems to be confident it won’t be a problem.

    We've done panel painting with metallic colors on a couple of my cars, and it's not a problem, although I agree it's always a risk. But it is important to mix a large enough quantity so you aren't using different batches of color.
    For brand, I always recommend BASF Glasurit or R-M all the way.
