anyone have any problem directly running hose to rear of holley 4150 style double pumper from pcv in rear of intake on edelbrock performer? Throttles sticking open or anything?
No problems, if you want you can drill and pipe tap a hole at the back of the intake plenum and do it that way.
There may be a slight preference for routing the PCV fumes under the primary throttle blades, so the fumes mix nicely with the incoming fuel/air mixture. However, many Holley carbs have a PCV port at the rear, and others have the PCV port boss, but it's not drilled so there's no nipple. Easy to drill and stuff in a press-fit 3/8 tube, or even a pipe-threaded barbed fitting, or whatever you need to make a secure connection when the boss is already in place.
The only 2 little issues ibe seen on any of the cars I've ever done is sometimes when the hose gets replaced it thicker and can rub the bowl making it hard to line up.......the other is is any easy place to get a vacuum leak as the hose gets older and softens
I switched to the sp1 and it has the hole drilled in the carb base for this. I did notice that the rubber hose cracked after a few years. I guess nothing is like "It used to be" anymore.
I have mine run this way (sp1/Holley 4150hp) . A piece of nicely bent stainless tubing and a couple black rubber spark plugs boots makes for a clean and easy install.
