I what to put A oil pressure gage on by 350,and keep the factory sender. What size T fiting do I use.
1/4" pipe thread. if you do a gauge, I would use 1/4" line. the gauge will be more responsive(like a tach) than the 1/8" line.
Get an L shaped 3 hole brass fitting and at least 1 double male fitting. It's a Tee, but not a "T", get it? I had to shave it down a little, it would hit the block when installing.
I used a steel nipple out of the block and then a brass tee. Mechanical gage facing up and the light senor down. Works great.
I haven't fitted mine yet as the engine is in bits, but from previous advice I got a brass reducer from 1/4 NPT to 1/8 NPT, this will go on the engine block. Then I got a T fitting that has 1 male 1/8 NPT (to go on the brass reducer) and 2 female 1/8 NPT. I'm going with this option because I seem to have found there is more availability of gauges in 1/8 NPT than 1/4 NPT, at least here in the UK. Then at a later date I did find a T adaptor that has 1 male 1/4 NPT (for engine block), 1 female 1/4NPT (could use the original oil pressure switch) and 1 female 1/4 NPT (to use oil pressure gauge)

How is the best way to run the oil pressure line ,and keep it out of the way.If some one could give me some advice ,or show me some pictures of how to run it, I would appreciate it.
I ran mine up the side of the engine and used “P” clamps on the valve cover studs to hold it in place. It goes behind the intake in the back just before going thru a hole in the firewall. I used a braided stainless line so I don’t have to worry about anything.
My plan is to hook up A oil pressure gage in the car, leave the intake off ,just to see oil flowing, when I'm priming the oil pump.Have some one watching the gage . When I run my line I need to be out of the way of intake, so I can install it.Do y'all think that is the best way.
Adjacent to the passenger side valve cover is the engine harness. Run it along there. No reason to leave the intake off while priming, nothing to see. Just prime it until you see pressure on the gauge and you are done.
I used the basic plastic line but I slid it through some rubber vac hose ( from block fitting through firewall ) for protection . Secured it in a few spots .
The sending units for idiot light & analog are different. I think u will have install the analog sending unit into the block than do your T-off. I use the metal pipe & not the plastic pipe.
I installed A Tee into block, had to cut 3/16 off one side so it would screw into block.Im running 1/8 copper line.
In case you might like to use an electric oil pressure gauge to keep things simple, there is an oil sender that had two contacts in it. One is for your factory idiot light (if you have it) and the other is for an electric oil pressure gauge. That way, you don't have to run an oil line from the engine to the interior. I run both my water temp and oil pressure idiot lights and electric gauges together with these type senders.
