I got a hold of a 69' GS 350 that someone disassembled to tune up the body and paint but passed prior to reassembling. So she's missing a lot! Here is a list of what I can think of for now, it will be expanded. Interior: Parchment door panels with armrests Shift plate, mine is melted for some reason, but I may throw in a 700R4 with a shiftworks overdrive shifter. Overdrive switch, a desire but now a need. Radio with bezel Dash bezel that is in good shape. Mine is pretty worn and faded. Seat belts. All mine are rusted pretty bad. Engine: Power steeeing pump with brackets. Ram air plates that go under the hood. Radiator overflow with brackets. Exterior/Body: Radiator core support, mine is rusted completely through on both ends. Both the right and left front inner fenders. Rusted through on the front as well. All badges and lettering. They removed them all for primer and misplaced them. That's all I can think of for now. Looking to get it done by late summer so I'm in the mood to buy any decent parts you got. I'll provide some pics, if you see something I missed feel free to notify me. She came to me missing a lot and I'm trying to get things straight. Engine is completely rebuilt and I pulled the frame off last summer and restored it. Now it's just a matter of getting it back together and running.
Is this the one from the junk yard out that way, if so I looked at it a few years ago and yes it was a basket case.
No, I picked it up from a guy out of Sumner. The owner passed away in the middle of restoring it and the bank took it. Here are a few photos of it before I got the body tuned up and the primer on.
I should have the following items PM me your email or cell and I will get you pictures. Radio with bezel Dash bezel that is in good shape. Mine is pretty worn and faded. Seat belts. All mine are rusted pretty bad. (I only have Black let me know if acceptable) Engine: Power stering pump with brackets. Should have brackets will check on a pump. Ram air plates that go under the hood. Exterior/Body: All badges and lettering. They removed them all for primer and misplaced them. (I should have used originals of most)
Hi Chris, I also should have the badging and lettering you need if Tony can’t help. Let me know Brian
Have decent used parchment pearl interior panels, at least that's what Legendary interiors calls em Do you mean radiator hold down
Sounds like the same car, same location, story was the same, it was inside in a retired salvage yard. The only difference was this one had a black bucket interior with a auto console. I have a number of pictures if you want to see them.
That's it. I'm going with a parchment interior. Seats are already reupholstered. Was told the engine was rebuilt, but found out it had two main bearings out. Had to use a cheater pipe to turn it over. K&K here in Kearney rebuilt it, for $2700. So-Lo Customs tuned up the body and did a few coats of the Verde Green primer. It was the original color and I'm sticking with it. She's been a money pit. $4000 for the car, $4300 on body and paint, $2700 on the engine, and two months and $2000 on the chasis. But the thing will be assembly line new.
Can't decide on the vinyl top color yet though. White would contrast and match my interior, but black blends in better.
Was the car back together when you purchased it? I mean, was the front sheet metal on and inside cleaned out. When I looked at it the complete front was off and stored in the bathroom of the building.
It was. That explains why the body lines looked like ****. LOL! It's all off again now until I hunt down a better radiator support and inner fenders. They are completely rusted out in the front. And get the engine and tranny back in. Picked up a 700R4 to throw in so I have OD. The original shift plate was ruined anyways.
I do not have very many 68/9 extra parts from my restorations. Have a front bumper core, Skylark hood, very nice deck lid. Have some small parts. May have the rear GS 350 markers. May have a shift plate, but not sure. PM me your email and I will send you pictures of the car when I looked at it.
Hope this is what you're after Chris. Stainless is real nice as are the GS350 emblems. There is some discoloration on the tops of the panels. A worn area near windlace on passenger rear panel (see picture). Extra windlace is out of a GP and white, not parchment. On the trim out parts, some are very soiled. I cleaned one spot (see picture), it will take a lot of time to clean them entirely. The rest of the parts were just quickly wiped with a Dawn moistened towel. Probably could use some contact cement around some of the wrap arounds. Should be fine for a driver car, especially given they are 49 years old LOL
Also have an instrument housing and seat belts out of the same GS350. If no one ahead of me offers up their scoop pieces in a final deal, I have those too.
I have a NOS GS 350 fan shroud. Don't remember if its for a 68 or 69,I can check if you are interested. gary
