Once I get caught up on a 71 GS grille Im repairing for Bruno, I'll post up some pictures that will clear up some of the questions you have about it.

I have a question about this. The link you share shows part # HAC-1191. On the page for your link and listed just below the ad for the part, another similarly described heater core is listed. When you click on it, it shows as part # HAC-1192. Both parts are listed as being for non-AC cars but the pictures are different in that the tubes are different. Which one is correct for 70-72 Skylark?

    I saw that too.

The one I posted - which is 1192 - is the one that looks just like the core in my car.

The lower core is the one I bought.

So what is the difference? Will they both fit and function the same?

Not sure but the lower one looks like mine, so I grabbed that one.

Maybe the core with the longer outlets is for an air conditioned car?

I used the hac-1192. Sorry I attached the wrong link.

Christ!! That looks like a ball of fun.

I can't wait to have to take out the consolette. Said no one, ever....

Thought that might scare the crap out of you! LOL Sorry, couldn't resist!

The consolette comes out in 5 minutes. There are two nuts under the forward end. Remove the two nuts-

Then lift the forward end of the top up-

    KIMG1122[1].JPG

Then push the top forward towards the dash to unhook the clips that holds the two halves together in the back. You can see the rusty clips attached to the bottom half-

And the clips on the top that interlock with the bottom ones-

The bottom half is just bolted to the floor pan with three bolts.

I feel like your 5 minutes and mine are a bit different. Haha!

    Great tutorial, though!

Doesn't look too bad at all.

Sorry I haven’t checked in for a while, the correct clamps are red colored for the 3/4 and gold for the 5/8. The others will leak. Also non Harrison aftermarket heater cores have different ridges in the nozzles. They are junk. That is the only reason they leak. The lined hose that Ames Pontiac had was very good quality. Brett do you still need Corbin’s that are correct?

I'm going to send you a PM.

I have Zinc on the top and gold on the bottom. These were likely old Poston ones but no leaks.
