Be sure to use flare nut wrenches (line wrench) for removal and installation of the brake lines and trans lines
I made up my own brake lines, used old lines as A pattern. Bought A roll of 3/16 and 1/4 tubing, used A good double flaring tool, and some line bending tools.I didn't have much money in the replacement lines, but took some time. I have replaced brake lines on two cars,by making them myself .
Wow, I opened the box of my new radiator and was surprised, its plastic on the sides? Even the drain cock is plastic. It fit well enough, well see. Waiting for lines to arrive.
Oh my, I looked under to check out the other end of the tranny cooler lines and what shocked me is the rust all over my exhaust system. I'm afraid the braking system is the same.
I redone my brakes last spring, I had A wheel cylinder sticking .My master cylinder had rusty brake fluid in it.I replace it ,all wheel cylinder, rubber lines, hard lines. Its A good piece of mind to have A new braking system on A old car.It would be A shame to wreak A car because of A brake failure.
So, there is no access to the tranny lines at the tranny end. I can get the wrench on, but there's no room to turn it. Car needs to be on a lift.
Yes, your going to need to use a "flare nut crows foot" to do the trans cooler lines at the trans. If you think that's tough, just wait till you get to the brake line that goes to the back of the car! You have to lift the rear of the body off the mounts!
