I snorted coffee at the sight of this listings main image. Classic! https://charlottesville.craigslist.org/cto/d/1967-volvo-1800-for/6530351174.html
Wow, the tarp & foliage really did a job in preserving it. Those P1800s can really zip around....this one's got the Stromberg carbs intact & everything. Swedish iron of this vintage can be fun to drive...a friend of mine up north has a 1962 P1800 which has good pep. Frame looks intact, along with most of the body...could be saved by the right gearhead...
There may be a part or parts that have some value. One of my older brothers had a 1970 P1800E back in 1975 (First Picture with me in the drivers seat at 15 years old). He used to let me practice driving in it when I was 15 years old and had my temps. I must say that thing had some get up for a 130 cubic inch 4-banger. It had some interesting features for 1970, .... fuel injection, 4-wheel disc brakes, 4-speed with overdrive. I remember being out driving it with my brother and pulling up to a stop next to a fella I went to high school with. He was a few months older so he already had his regular license and he was driving his mothers 1969 Mustang. It was a 302 automatic 2-barrel stocker. He used to love to drive around school and roast the heck out of the rear tire. Anyhow, my brother looked at him and then back at me and told me to give it the beans. I couldn't believe he was letting me do it but I remember him saying "Don't Forget To Side Step The Clutch"........ I pulled on the Mustang throughout the first three gears but let off at about 60 feeling pretty good about my first victory. Who would have known that 40 years later I was setting up the Webers and Tremec in a '68 Volvo P1800 with Ford Racing 302!!! We hit the Rev Limiter in the video, .... but it was set fairly low for Break-In. (you hover over the speaker and then turn the volume slide control up to hear the audio) The Hot Rod Shop I help out at "Street Works" in Waukesha WI recently finished up transforming a 1968 Volvo P1800 into a fantastic Pro-Touring Masterpiece. It ended up getting a fully "In House" fabricated tube chassis with a Ford Performance 302, 4-Weber 2-barrel carburetors, Tremec TKO-600 5-speed trans, Dana 44 rear axle, Vintage Air Conditioning and a host of hand fabricated body panels including the custom made Ferrari scooped hood and Camaro Bumpers. It ended up with the front Wilwood brakes from my Skylark. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=994412650635305 Don't forget that Roger Moore drove a Volvo P1800 as "Simon Templar" in the 1960's TV series "The Saint".
