If it is what I think you are talking about, I need 5 or 6 to mount my passenger door piece. Lemme know ifya find a source for the correct plastic piece.....peak moldings, yes?
I don’t know if this place will have what you’re looking for in particular, but they’ve helped me out a couple of times on my cars: http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/default.asp
Need a pic. But I think those are like the moldings on my 442. Look in Fusick's catalog at 68/69 cutlass peak molding fasteners. https://www.fusickautomotiveproducts.com/products.asp?dept=412
The metal pop-in fasteners with the tail are for the quarter window pieces. The doors have plastic slide-in fasteners that clip onto studs on door. No studs, no problem, I bought replacement screw-in studs for the doors. I'm just short the plastic clips for passenger door. Jim
Jim where can I get the replacement screw in studs for the door. My doors are not original to the car.
http://www.thefastenerwarehouse.com/page/page/584919.htm I bought a bag of screw-in studs to replace a few missing windshield studs and also to mount the peak moldings to the doors. I can mail you 14 of them , that's enough to do both doors. If you find the right plastic clips, lemme get 7 of them if you would? I need to go thru my plastic clips and I can at least tell you which ones I purchased that did not work. I used old , original clips to mount my driver door peak molding. I will PM you tomorrow with that info. Jim
The holes for the quarter window peak moldings are 5/16" if I recall correctly. Start small , work up to the final size. I actually drilled holes in a junk fender to test fit snap-in metal clips. I started my screw-in stud holes with 1/16" drill bit. Hope this helps....Jim
Close but not quite. The original ones I used have little wings that space the clip off the car to keep clip tight in moldings. They may work but I have similar ones that don't. I actually have quite the collection going , of the wrong clips, unfortunately. ......Jim
I need a complete set of these too. I bought a car as a painted shell, and it has the holes for this peak molding. I was able to buy the peak molding from another member, but now I need all the fasteners.
