As far as i know per board rules when selling an item i am supposed to go as first come first serve .
Out of respect for the first guy that asked about buying it i reserve him the right to buy before the other 5 people that have showed interest after he did. If decides he doesnt want it i will go to the 2nd person that asked about it

    Steve in Illinois is 1st
    Harrison in cali 2nd
    71stick new york 3rd
    Turbo6.0 georgia 4th
The hold up for steve is me .
I need to get undercarriage pics to verify
That the chassis is indeed healthy. I aim to provide as much info as i can to the buyer as i would expect the same when i purchase cars.
My lift is tied up and as soon as i can i am goin to pull the gold car in and inspect and take pics.

Not trying to "stir the pot" here, just trying to further my understanding of the rules of the board...I dont see a post in this thread from Steve in Ill or Harrison from Cali ??? I was under the impression a member needs to post his interest in a thread to be in line? If not, how are sellers held accountable for following the rules?

Tom--you are correct. Here are the Board rules. They were put in to effect to head off the endless complaints we were having about people cutting in line:

    1. Post a price for the item being offered.
    2. Post a location of the item.
    3. Work with the interested parties to complete the sale, in the order that they showed interest in your item. This interest must be shown with a public reply to your thread, Personal Messages (PM's) or emails are not acceptable communication requirements for "getting in line" to purchase an item. We suggest 48 hours as an acceptable time period to allow interested parties to contact you privately.
    4. If the first user who responds to your ad does not complete the sale, you move onto the second person who responded, and so on and so forth down the list, until the item is sold. This list is dictated soley by the public replies to your ad.
    5. You will not accept other offers or negotiate outside of these guidelines.
    6. You will not refuse to sell the item to anyone, for any reason, unless a moderator or the board administrator is involved and Ok's the denial.

If anyone in your list above is not shown to be in line publically, they are not in line.

Just looking at it from afar, it appears Ed Green from NZ is first up, if he wants the whole car, assuming you decide to sell the whole car. He also appears to be first if you part it.

The priority rules I posted above were drafted and posted by the owner of V8Buick a long time ago:

    "Effective Jan 1 2006

In the past, an "honor system" has been used in the parts and cars for sale forums. This policy has existed since the board's inception but recently it has been pointed out that violations of this policy have occurred, so this post is intended to clarify the policy, and remove all questions concerning it. As of the effective date above, this policy will be strictly enforced...."

So any issues you have with the rules that govern sales here need to be addressed to JW, the owner.

    Jim,
Would it be in the best interest for me to delete this thread and start a new one later?
It seems its went in a wrong direction both by me and a few others.
I would like to do whats fair for everyone but this has put a bad taste in my mouth!
It wont hurt my feelings to let the car rot away in my field!

Chris--I appreciate your feelings but I would not do that. If the potential buyers do not end up in the same order as the current thread, this will cause even more controversy. No one that is not posted as interested in this thread has any standing to complain that you followed the order that the Board rules have required for over 12 years. So it appears Ed Green is first up to bat #1. GSXER is #2.
