So finally got fired up. Took about a week and waiting for pushrods but sounds nice. Work done- Milled, ported heads and Stage 1 springs with new valve guides and retainers Ported TA Perf manifold New Q jest carb Headers TA 212 cam shaft Metal head gaskets HEI ignition Has some base to it and running smooth
Very quiet under hood. Has some base out back now wt raised compression, headers and cam...subtle but throaty. Interested see how it runs out
Pistons are dished i guess. Why i milled heads and used metal gasket. Wanted to raise comp without new pistons
You tube app isn't letting me down load, anyone have email? I send and post here? Picked up and drove yesterday for awhile. Car pulls well to 5500-6k. Im running headers into 2.5 inch with flowmaster 10s...sound great at idle however way too loud under full load. Car is very responsive however with out posi it almost feels like car twisting? so when I get off gas under full power I have to correct steering back to the right. The shop that performed work have never built a Buick 350 and all of them were very surprised how well engine performed with the upgrades.
ok...one bad trait is I lost choke...little cold blooded and when hot starter is heating up from headers. Starts a bit hard.
Wrap the headers, get a mini starter, or get a heat shield, unless you want to be replacing starters every month.
Do not wrap the headers they will rust out. You need to take the starter off and clean it up on the inside and get a new sylinoid and it will start good for you. Mini starter will work good. I took my starter out cleaned it up inside and out put it back together and never had any trouble. paint it white and that will help dissipate heat. For the loudness of the Flowmasters you can get a X pipe and that will calm down the noise at full throttle.
