OK, my dumb question for today, Is there insulation that goes between the headliner and the roof of the car?? If so does some body reproduce the insulation? Thanks in advance your comments. Jim
Yes it was a fiber/felt type material between the roof skin and the braces. The Summit brand "dynamat" or 3m Qpads from an Auto Body supply store work great to replace the original stuff
I used a product called Quickroof, available at HDepot. Basically Dynamat without the enormous markup.....Jim
Guys, thanks for all the replies. Replacing the headliner should be an interesting experience. I get the parts from Legendary in mid May so I have a few weeks to think about this. Jim
Well, if you chicken out (like I did) I got a guy that did mine. He lives in Berwyn and he's a perfectionist doing headliners. There's nothing worse than looking at a brand new headliner that's wrinkled.
There's a pretty detailed article on installing headliners in the new June issue of Hemmings Muscle Machines if you decide to give it a try.
