Discussion in 'Buick FAQ' started by rtv72, Aug 7, 2015.

  1. Rtv72 ,
I dont see my families 1970 gs stage 1 car listed in this 4spd section. Its varified by Wayne Roberts stage 1. Paperwork created on January 1st 1970. Dealer ordered demo out of Norfolk , Va.
Its a fully restored to original firered hardtop, pearl white bucket seat interior, non ac, non power doors or windows. And its a factory matching #4spd

Motor is currantly being fully rebuilt and should be reinstalled and running again by end of this month.

Feel free to add it to the list.

    Hello,
I am only tracking GS 455 4speeds and three speeds. That being said that is a very nice car you have. Looks good!

    Thanks
    Ron

  3. Well technically it is a gs lol.

  4. I have a picture of the build sheet from a factory black 70 4 speed that doesn't appear to be in this registry. I know the car still lives but not sure who has it because i cant remember who i sold it to.

I am in the process of restoring a 1970 gs 455 stage 1 hard top. Does that fit into the registry?

    Jesi,
Very nice car! There is already a registry for state 1 cars. http://www.stage1registry.com/ This is for GS 455 4 speeds and 3 speeds.

George is this your car? Did you see on CL? Can you post the link if so ? Someone here may want this car or look at it. This is a very rare car. We would need a build sheet or Sloan Docs to verify.
    Thanks!

The ad is gone, but I think (?) George bought it and IIRC, it was #'s matching.

Of course there are other ways to document these cars - #'s matching, Itemized Dealer Invoice, IBM card, GM Canada, POP (I think for '70?), and with probably 99.5% or better accuracy, the original Wholesale Car Order Form or on an SCO car, even the price quote to the Dealer from the Zone office, plus in some cases considerable circumstantial evidence (e.g. original shifter hump). I'm sure I'm forgetting something here too.

As an aside, interesting that it's missing the "week" on the trim tag. I have a '70 Flint car that I also believe has a mistake on the tag - "Z" after the Trim Code, but it's a recommended color combo.
