What's it worth? Pictures will be of all issues I found with car. The car has been repainted years ago, needs new paint job, body filler in front drivers fender bottom, drivers door. Core support mounts rotted, floor pans rotted, you can see lead marks where the quarters meet the roof, roof and drip rails have holes, brakes don't work, fuel line leaks front and rear, seats are torn. I'm trying to figure out what a good offer is. It's a 350 auto car.

Edit: will not let me post pictures

  5. considering that a nice rust free survivor 71-72 GS350 is lucky to bring 15K I'd say the seller should just give you the car for free and you'll still lose money in the end.

Sad but true, I've argued that point with several owners the past few years, they can always quote a recent sale price of one , but totally forget or more likely don't understand the 30k spent on it for it to bring 17k

Usually they are just worth the price of the good parts unfortunately. A complete, usable hood is a grand around here - air cleaner $350-450, core buckets $500 etc. If you get it free you won't lose so much money on the restoration when you sell it. I have one that I drive around - drives nice, gets decent mileage and I am not afraid of driving it. I wouldn't start with a rusted out one though unless you really love it and can do bodywork! (and maybe have a bitchin' set of tools)

    Thanks for posting pictures Ryan.

I like the car, and I can do most of the work myself. I'm not looking to buy it to flip it. I'm looking to buy it, restore it over time, and drive it. I'm just wondering what a good offer would be because the lady wants $10,500.

No way is that car worth even close to that money. Walk away and don't look back. They will be lucky to get 1500 to 2000 for that car. You can do so much better if you just look around and save your money till the right one comes along. Stay away from this one its not worth messing with and they are so way beyond unrealistic on the value you will most likely never get them to the point its worth buying.

A small block car in this condition is about a $2500-3000 car where I am if the hood is good - just adding up pieces in case I would need to blow out of it when I got into it. The body will ultimately get much worse when you start disassembly based on the rust in the pics. The top scares me. A lot. There are still some good small block cars floating around that are in better shape body wise - I would be tempted to search more dilligently.
