It's too bad the guy won't budge on price. I always figured if I owned such a car, I would drop it maybe $100 every couple of months. Question is, what is the correct price for this car? $1000? If a person would buy it for $1000, but not $2000, or $3000, what is the reason? Is it the $3000 plus the $1500 transport cost to get it to you = $4500 is too high. For me it is space, lack of quality of a garage, and the fact I want to seller to acknowledge over-price by putting obo behind his price. Let's face it, this car is going to need everything meticulously redone and expensively restored. People may be making judgments on eventual cost, not purchase cost. I say this, because in the grand scheme of things, I suppose there is not much difference between $1000 and $3000. But getting it at very low cost helps to justify the $45,000 or more someone is going to spend on a $24,000 car when done. Price / worth - not everything, but I find it interesting people will comment on member's GS455 hardtops from 1970 to 1972 that the asking price is $12,500 to $25,000 for projects, when a convertible GS400 goes begging for $3k.
Agreed. The thing is that he could part it out if he wanted and get the $ 3000. I would say it is a good deal the way it is and if it is a solid Cali car all the better.
I was all set to buy the car. I had shipping arranged and when I was making final arrangements I asked for proof of ownership he said he could not do that. So the seller has no title or Bill of sale and will not give a bill of sale with his name on it. ?????
Minnesota sucks to title ANYTHING other than a clean signed off title. Even from non-title states, unless you have a registration that is still on a DMV computer somewhere you will go through the bonded title scenario probably. It is not a hard and firm rule, but each DMV office can decide to approve or disapprove each title application that does not meet the criteria of a signed off title or transferable registration. Which is a 3 year process. Just went through it 3 years ago and finally got a clean title. Total cost $771. That is part of why this car has not sold locally. I have a friend that was interested but the seller had no paperwork and didn't seem willing to help out either.
I just found another car in Fl. It's been sitting for 3 years (tag registered 2015) but it's in an apartment complex and I can't locate the owner. Any suggestions?
