So I found a receipt in the glove box of my recently acquired Electra and looked the guy up. He actually didn't live too far from me so I went by to visit and see if he did any upgrades I haven't noticed (before I start tearing it apart for no reason). What did he have in store for me?? He practically gave me a 1970 short block bored .030 over, new cam and pistons @ 10:1 compression ratio both brand new from TA Performance (with receipts and grind sheet) all the original parts as well! Heck he even through in the engine stand lol he was a super nice guy and bought all that stuff about 11 years ago for "my" car but never got around to it. He builds track cars but hasn't had any buicks since he let Marilyn (the car) go so that's that. Now I guess I'll start a build of something real nice and do it the right way hopefully. Just need to get a b4b intake and some aluminum heads. Anyhow just thought I'd share all that. There are still really good people out there
The car or the new set up? I've been working on the outside a bit so it's no longer a white top but it's all a work in progress
Haven't decided on paint color just yet. Thinking a satin black or gun metal gray but I really do like what's on it now. The top is just primed in this pic but I'm definitely going back with black vinyl.
Yea the front seats are not my favorite but there's a hurst shifter in the floor so they're gonna stay. I changed the covers to tan from the black and red racing one but I plan to just get them reupholstered to match the back.
A friend of mine does all his cars black and it is smooth! I'm not sure if its satin or not but it's not quite flat and definitely not gloss. I'm still up in the air but honestly I'll probably stick with the burgundy. It's definitely an eye catcher
This is the "satin" black and there's just something about it. He told me it was actually John Deer black if anyone else is interested in it
