I'm looking for a copy of the Steven L. Dove book in used but good condition. Either the original one published in 1988 with the black cover or the second printing published in 1992 with the white cover. PM if you have a copy you can sell. Thanks.
1965-1975 Buick GS facts and figures. Production numbers, identifying part numbers, engine codes, transmissions, rear ends, some wiring diagrams, assembly illustrations, and lots of source book type stuff. https://www.amazon.com/Guide-Buick-1965-1975-Figures-Version/dp/B00AZO0C4K
I understand Stephen Dove's book is good. Mine only covers, Production numbers, identifying part numbers ( Belts Brackets Pulleys, Battery and cables) engine codes, transmissions, rear ends correct body parts ID and numbers etc.....Stephen Dove got his info from Buick....so did I.
Ray, Just be careful if you are going to use the book to reference part numbers. Some of the info in the book came from the Service Division and references the numbers needed to order the parts, and not the part numbers cast into the pieces. I talked to Steven about that. Other then that they are great books, and are a part of our history. My original "Black" book was used so much it fell apart. I got another to replace it and it's still taped together. Duane
Thanks, Duane. Appreciate the thoughts. The rest of the story is that I already have the 1st issue black book but am asking to buy another copy because the one I have is an original #24 signed by Steven Dove. I want to keep it in its present excellent contrition and use another copy for occasional reference. As long as I'm thinking about it, is there any difference between the original black cover version and the second printing version with the white cover?
Yeah, there are some differences. The White book has a bunch of added pictures in it, and some more info, so it might be good for you to get one of them if you have not seen it before. ............but to be perfectly Honest, I prefer the Black book. It seems easier to find info in that one. Maybe it's because I am used to the earlier book, I don't know. They do say that, " Cats and Duane don't like change." Duane
