Hey guys, Like the title says, I’m looking for all the bolts to join the two halves. Also for the bolts and nuts that secure it to the firewall. Any ideas on who has em? Thanks! Scott
I checked with Diecast but don’t see any there. Also looked at Old Buick Parts and OPGI. No luck there.
To secure the boxes to the firewall, it takes 6 of 1/4" - 14 x 7/8" screws, and 4 of 1/4" - 20 nuts. To secure the halves together, I will check when I get home
Thanks Scott, Found these at NPD to join the case halves together. https://www.npdlink.com/product/fastener-kit-ac-evaporator-case-6-hexwasher-bt-type/179761 Maybe these will work? 4 but aren’t bad. But if I can source locally then I can save the shipping. Thanks again for the help!! Regards, Scott
Any one able to verify if the link I posted would be correct on joining the two halves? Scott, those nuts that you provided. Are they those weird nuts? I can post a pic of what I have. Regards, Scott
I cannot verify. The parts book and assembly manual are blank on that screw. This is what i have, Bennny has r estored mine and used these bolts. They are 1/4"-14 about 1-1/4" long Here is the nut: Looks like AMK B-12959:
Those screws From npd aren't correct but they would probably work. The original screws for the a.c. box had the ends cut off. The weird nuts are a type of speed but. They still make them but I've used the new ones and they didn't fit right. Here is a link to some but you can do a Google search also.https://m.autozone.com/nuts-bolts-a...4525!&ef_id=WRXMqgAAAHe3jhwI:20180731121641:s
Thanks Todd!! The top bolt secured box to firewall correct? Do you also carry the bolt that joins the two halves?
Pretty sure I don't have them in stock right now but let me do some checking to see if they're something my supplier has in stock...…….
Did you get the screws you needed. I just pulled a box from a 71 skylark. Thought about your thread here and saved all the screws you were looking for. Lmk if you need them. These are factory originals.
Moved into a new house so this got put on the back burner. Looking to start up again but still need to locate the screws used to join the two halves of the box. Any additional help is appreciated.
