I am searching for a good condit ion 1968 Buick Riviera aluminum lower AC compressor bracket for 430.
My bracket has a broken off bolt in the front compressor support bolt hole.

I have had several people tell me this is a one year only part but the 68 Buick parts manuals only lists one bracket for 67-70 Riviera, part #1381728. I even checked the 68 Buick service bulletin and there are no part changes in 68 for this bracket.

If anyone has a good used one for sale, please let me know.

    Greg,

    Thanks for the response!

Is the bracket undamaged with no broken off bolts or broken bolt holes? Is it the part number I am looking for? Pictures to confirm condition and part number would be appreciated.

    Mike

I have an extra one from a 1969 GS Riviera parts car. I'll have to dig it out tomorrow to check on the numbers and if there's any broken bolts/holes.

Hey Mike I got home from work late tonight and didn't get a chance to dig out that bracket. Tomorrow should be an earlier day for me so I'll get it out after work and contact you with the info.

    wheelz 'B' is for Buick.

Here ya are Mike: Exactly what you asked for.. the bracket paint is flaking, but the OA condition is not compromised . . . and , just in case you were not aware, you will need the correct top bracket as well... there are actually several combinations, only ONE is the correct companion to the bracket you are in need of... (BTW the original pix you posted above are ACTUALLY mine, from when George N and I spent an entire day matching brackets to applications...) I have the correct upper bracket shown in last pix.

    email me direct if interested:

Thanks for the response. If it has a broken off bolt in it I can't use it. Mine has a broken off bolt also. This seems to be a common issue on these!

Yes it is steel bolts and aluminum don't like each other. You could always drill it out? Even if it goes to a bigger hole size you could put a collar in the hole or take it to a welding shop and have somebody plug weld the hole with aluminum and then redrill it to the proper size? Best of luck to you if you change your mind it's here!
