Hey Paul...I will be back at my storage unit on monday... Ill letcha know what I find! Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Paul, I found 2, HOWEVER, I accidentally forgot and left them on the floor at storage. I now have to go back and gettum...
Two questions....... Do 350 or 455 fans on similar diameter differ other than part number? So a clutch fan runs with fluid friction (less than engine speed) till the temp control comes on (230* or so) If so equipped, Then locks up and runs at engine speed? Do I have this right? Thanks all, Mike
Hi Mike, not quite sure what you are looking for. As it is now, there is resistance to the shaft turning by hand. I tried to tighten the spring like you asked and the resistance seemed to increase but l could still turn the shaft. Hope this helps.
Hereya go Paul..... 18inch, fan, from a 350-1970 Lark. I will ship it LESS the clutch which is waaay heavier than the fan itself! PM sent! uh, errr, Conversation replied to.. .. .. ya. that. Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Hello Brian, I'm interested in having the fan lock-up earlier or at a lower temp than stock. If I understand correctly, when you tighten the spring, the small shaft attached to the spring doesn't rotate. Is this correct? My understanding is that this will cause the fan to "lock up" earlier besed uponwhat I have read within other threads. Mike
Ok I think I understand you. When I turn the spring 180 the shaft the spring is attached to only turns approximately.25. Just short a quarter turn. I have never heard about this. This is interesting. Again the shaft does turn some but not as much as the spring. Let me know. Brian
By the way,Paul, those that Wheelz has are not the right ones for a 70-72 SBB,mine are.So good luck with them.the fan blades are bigger then mine and your car in traffic might run cooler, but it also will use more gas.I sold mine to another member,so...Have a good one.Bruno.
FWIW,: The fan Paul has purchased may be different that yours Bruno, perhaps because it was removed from an A/C equipped car... and it is correct for a 350 car. Just say'n. Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Mine was just removed from a 71 Skylark with AC.But it does not matter, yours is as good as mine and you responded first.Bruno.
