Who cares if it's rare? It's missing one gear (for me at least)

Way to much money...but then again it's Gateway....could have been RK Motors as well...

nice presentation of a cool car but everything is overpriced...they clearly target the "investment" guys...and rich people overseas (where I live)...

Wasn’t there a link to this same car posted on here a few weeks ago, when the owner was trying to sell it? I remember the badly matched paint.

Some of the pics you can hardly, if at all tell. There were a lot of factory front clip mismatches but that's a bit much. Possibly a case of painting the fenders lying horizontally?

Yep, probably looks just fine 95% of the time. You get the right angle, right light, and you can usually see a "mismatch" even though the color might be spot on. It usually comes from the touched up or removed panels being painted off the car at a different gun angle during refinishing.

Where is reverse located in the shift pattern on one of these? My Mach 1 was a 3 speed manual from the factory, and reverse was where 1st normally should be. Took off backwards quite a few times before I swapped to an automatic.

Same place for Reverse on these.

Isn’t the three speed a Ford tranny?

I truly didn't know that until I just read your post and googled it....GASP!!!!! You are correct sir. I guess that explains the shift patterns being the same haha. I hated that thing, it made it 6 months in my car before I pulled it.

If anyone has a 3 speed manual in their GS, I have a nice burlwood Shelby Cobra shift knob in my drawer for it.... ;)

Dont know in a 70, but I had a 66 Wildcat with 3 speed, and it was a Ford Toploader.

My 66 3 speed also had the FoMoCo trans.

Guys, they aren't Ford Toploader transmissions. Buick didn't use the "F" word! They were referred to as "Dearborn" transmissions. And Ford used a Quadrajet on the 429, so there!

.... and FoMoCo (in their Lincolns of the era) also used the [GM] Frigidaire A6 A/C compressors.

I think by 70, they used the Muncie HD 3 speed. I think the last year of the Dearborn trans was 69. And even with the 3 speed, it should still have a 5335 handle

I've got HEI, a Saginaw GM ps pump, a GM 1 wire alternator, and BBC journal sized 6.800 rods in my 552" Ford, just so you guys know.....plus I've got the adapters to put one of the spare billet built 200-4Rs out of my little bro's GN in the Mach 1, and it has GM g-body front calipers for the rear disc brakes....Best parts is best parts, no matter the brand! :D
