I'm not sure if this is the right place but I wanted to start a place holder thread for restoration question on my Buick.

My first question, does anyone know the diameter of the head of the bumper bolts front and rear? Also could anyone post some pictures of the attachment points and hardware of the bumper front and rear?

What is a good place to find the bolts and special washers for the bumper to frame bracket? TIA!

Looking for ideas to fix my radiator core support. The support is solid except for the parts by the core support bushings on both sides. I found a few company's that make these repair kits and also I have heard members talk about Mike Garrison. What are your guys experience with repairing such an issue? TIA

Mine was rusted and eaten through by the battery tray. I bought a repop via The Parts Place. Seems to fit fine.

First off, Thank You Paul for providing John that link! I appreciate it!

I do have quite a few "Frame Off" type photos on my website that may show you what you're looking for!

Here's a direct link to some of the Restorations we've done that may provide some insight on your mounting locations > Todd's GS Restoration Page

    Thanks again Guys!

Hey guys am I missing something here? Not sure why I can't upload pictures but the front bumper doesn't line up with the brackets. Is there a bracket that bolts to the frame bracket which ties the bumper to the frame bracket?

Edit: Added said brackets being talked about for future reference.

1970 Front Bumper Brackets consist of 6 Brackets total. 2 to the frame - 2 to the sides of the bumper - and 2 smaller brackets that attach to the bumper and then to the main bracket. (I'm guessing it's the smaller ones you didn't have at first?)

Hope this helps, sounds like you're all set though.

    John,

You will do yourself a huge favor by purchasing a '70 Buick Assembly Manual. The manual illustrates the the correct parts and their locations, hardware used and other essential information needed to properly work on these cars.

    HTH,

Hey Matt, I actually have two of them. One of them isn't in such decent shape that my dad gave to me, and I bought another about 2 weeks ago in very good shape for $20

Hey guys, does anyone have experience with replacing the lower part of the fenders? I have a patch panel but doesn't match up closely with the existing. Also the lower half of the brace is missing.

Been there done that many times. Those patch panels aren't for the novice. Those are especially shitty looking, as far as the brace, I believe some is making them for the Buicks now iirc. My suggestion for what you have is a better pair of fenders

See if you can get some fenders brought to the Nationals, they lots of fellas coming down from OH that could bring that back up I'm sure. I've got several sets, but need them for cars we have. Wheelz has a clean set that can be brought up from FL I'm sure
