Update on the above - he is now promising two six-day trips for two (and the 50" flat-screen TV) free. Yuh, right...
We've done several of those. In Feb we got a 4 day stay at a high end resort in Az. and a voucher for a cruise for sitting through a high pressure sales pitch for an hour. It was tempting but not at 50K
X2! There are pond scum amoeba's with more integrity than the managers/owners I worked for. Not all are that way but back in the early 80's - look out.... I avoid all dealerships if I can.
I walked in to a Dealer in Mendon, MA (Imperial Chrysler Jeep Ram etc, Imperial also has Ford and Chevy dealerships) and the first thing that the salesman who pounced on me said was "We'll sell you the car for invoice, which is our cost." I asked him if he had sent resumes out. He gave me a strange look and asked why would he do that? I said because if the dealer is actually selling cars for his cost, he can;'t possibly stay in business.
Along those lines.. Every car I have ever bought I am told the dealer is 'loosing' money on the deal .
I got one of those keys from our Ford dealer in 2004. Win a new Ford F-150 if the key unlocks the box. We go down later that evening after they closed. Take a look at the truck and the box on the seat. The lock and our key wasn't anywhere close to matching. On a slight side note, closely related. Being I don't have a garage and out Apt is on a main street I have been getting a couple of " do you want to sell" notes under the wipers. I keep toying with the idea of putting a small sticker on my vent window. FOR SALE 10K. to ward off the I can get the car cheap people. Yeah, if someone wants it so bad they will pay me 10K for her. Fine, they can have her. I will just turn around and buy another one. Tim
