How is the best way to locate? I do not have vin. I found one time about 10 years ago and guy had removed the white top and from what I understand is solid blue now. I am going to Buick Nationals this year to see if it is there. The gentleman said he goes most every year.

First of all I would mention the last place you knew where it was. when you sold it.

Good luck with your search there have been a few cars found with the resources of this group.

Doo Wop Where were you in '62?

That sounds like BB Sam's old car. If I recall the current owner did paint the car in one color. It did have a painted roof (white.)

Try to get a copy of your old title from the state DMV. It will have the VIN.

Texas DMV "Purged" their records since 82. (back around 94) Had a discussion with a local Tax office manager about that & have made Sure I was Very careful with older titles.
I have to have go through a Physical Inspection of My 66 SS Impala, because of a Typo in the VIN. (Typed an O instead of a D on the title)
Kicker is I Have the Title, But was told to wait until I have the car back on the road as the "Inspection is only good for 30 days to get it corrected"
Why they couldn't just look @ the VIN & my paperwork, (Title, Registration, etc.) while Not running & on a Trailer, I'll never know.

Some states still have the old titles.

At one time there was a company that harvested old title data and sold it to the public on a CD. I say old data because sometime later many states started limiting access to this data so fresh data became limited or unavailable.

That's a beauty. It had to be hard to let go. It's an uphill climb finding cars once owned but it does happen. Good luck.

Call the Title division of the Raleigh DMV on new Bern Avenue. NC only has two real DMVs --one in Charlotte and the other is in Raleigh. All others are contract offices.
