I've got a 2.56 open 8.2 in my 69 Skylark. Looking to eventually replace it with an 8.5 that will bolt in. I would like a 3.08-3.42 ratio, non-posi is fine. Must be within reasonable driving distance of Charlotte NC.
I have 8.5’s and can build whatever you want. I don’t live near NC,but I have a person that occasionally hauls cars and parts for me,and he lives in the NC/SC area,and could haul one back. He will be here in a few weeks,and might be the last trip until spring.
I also have a 1970 Buick 8.2” 3:23 posi. The 1970 has the better/common axle bearings & seals. No drivshaft modifications needed.
I have several 8.5" complete rear ends, drum to drum, 3.08, 3.23, not sure about a 3.42. I'm in South Florida and have shipped rears using Fastenal. I also have a guy that routinely travels I-95 up to NYC area and back. If interested, email me: drolds1@bellsouth.net. Thanks, Bob.
I don't need anything wild. Just a good stock rear with a little better gearing. Car's not going to be raced or have some high hp engine dropped in. Down the road I'd like the option of going to 3.73s and an overdrive trans, which is why I'd like to start out with a 3 series carrier now.

The 70 8.2” 3:23 rear would work nice for you right now,but if you want to go steeper later,there may or may not be any gears available. FabCraft is planning on another production run of 3:64’s,but no idea when. I could build a an 8.5” 3:08 posi now,and there are all kinds of gears available for that.

I have a 3.73 posy just done its not been in a car yet,so its brand new.Good aftermarket carrier,new gears all just done.My son lives in Huntersville,just 20 minutes from Charlotte,he can bring it to his house when he comes here to visit.Bruno.
Not going to BG, and I doubt the route from Tampa to there gets anywhere close enough to make things work. Sounds like a good option otherwise.
Bruno shoot me what you'd need for it in a PM. Not sure I'm ready to step all the way up to 3.73's yet, and the guy that had the 200-4r that I have had my eye on has went non responsive.
