installing new roof rail seal!where to start? I would assume to start at top peak of windshield? work down both ways. kenny462 thanks
Nope start at bottom front and use push pins first then work up towards top of windshield. Don’t pull and don’t leave slack just let rubber take its natural length. Most aftermarket pieces are too long and you may have to cut back ends. Some left length you can stuff in back but you don’t want too much back there. Take your time. With aftermarket it can be a chore getting windows to seal properly especially with power windows.
Do any of these repro roof rail seals have the angle molded where it transitions from the A pillar to the roof like the factory?
I thought the Soft Seal I had years back did have that? Maybe not? It didn’t seal power windows right so I trashed it and found NOS.
This NOS piece has the Bend. They have wires inside and the wires are broken at this point allowing the bend. The care and money GM put into things is just amazing. Sad no one appears capable or willing to duplicate 50 year old technology. One big reason I sold my car. I still miss it though.
