If you want to learn something new everyday, here's today's lesson. If you ordered a GM car heater delete, there was ANOTHER plate that blocked the heater control panel off. I'm not sure about Buicks, but definitely Chevy's and Olds. Cars that went to HI and hot places would order the heater deletes. I know a lot of early Olds W cars were ordered heater + radio deletes for racing. It saved money + weight. That's right, GM would actually take money off the car.

Part number decodes as 68/69 in about as nice of condition as I've ever seen.

    Yep,
That's a 68-69 Radio Delete Panel. The 70-72 Radio delete panels have a black camera finish in the face.

I have one in my X-Camino. I will try to get a picture tomorrow.

The top one is an original and the lower one is one that I printed. Note that there is a difference in the texture. I started to trim out the one I printed however I think I might try lightly painting it first to change texture. I need to print a few more and experiment with them.

I wonder if you could use some wrinkle finish paint on it? I used the Harley Davidson wrinkle finish black on a set of KB covers and they came out great.

I have never tried wrinkle finish paint and that might be the best answer to achieving the correct texture finish. I will try to get a few more printed out next week.

already repopped...have been for a few years...theres a guy on ebay that has reproduced just about every delete for every ford mopar and GM muscle car...he usually has 10 or so diff on ebay all the time..i havent searched it, buy i will and get a link..IF he's still around, i know he does the camaro chevelle stuff for sure, all the time theres some of them on there

ive bought a few NOT BUICK, (but have seen 68-69m and 70-72) and they where almost as good as NOS, but he hadnt plated anything, was either black or white...they are cast not injected..and are pretty nice..ive found him, messaged him and he gets right back and always has some not advertised..i will try to find him

I utilize the 3D Printer at the College where I teach. I will check as to what type it is. We also have a machine shop and automotive shop with a Wheel Dino that I have access to. Teaching doesn’t pay a lot, but it allows me to play a lot.
