I'm going to guess double at $50k as it's numbers match Stage 4-speed with what appears to be a decent body. It does need work, but the combo is right.
I'd like it to go high, but just from paying attention to all the cars that don't sell, I'm going to say 17.5k.
Would be nice to verify if a true Stage car. From Marco - VIN All 1970 factory Stage1 Gran Sports (2865 coupes (includes 400 GSXs)/232 convertibles) were GS455s built in Flint Michigan. That means that the VIN must start with either 446370H for a coupe or 446670H for a convertible. Visual Identification Each fender has a 'Stage 1' emblem under the 'GS' emblem, in addition to a stage 1 decal on top of a black air cleaner lid. The valve covers are chrome, in addition to the nuts and spark plug wire retaining posts. There should be a 7-blade fan (Heavy Duty cooling). 1970 Engine Identification If the engine is original, the 'Engine Serial Number' (figure E1) should read 9 digits - a '4' (for Buick), followed by the last 8 digits of the VIN. If the VIN is 446370H100001, the engine serial number would be 40H100001. For cars built later in the model year, it is possible for the engine serial number to be located on the front of the block as depicted in figure E2 The 'Engine Production Code Number' (figure E1) will depict the engine option - 'SS' is Stage1. You are all wrong. There is not a reserve . Some bidder will ask him how much he wants for it. That guy will buy it but not on evilbay.. All bids will be cancelled and it wont be seen again. That is a $ 32,000 car IF the seller's description is true. Just watch and see. Will not make it to the end of the auction. Seen it too many times to count..
It appears one of the last pictures depicts a build sheet. This is yet another auction that is lacking in so many areas. A car of this pedigree should have clear photos of all the Stage 1 specific parts, as well as the VINs, block code, etc... Still curious to see how it plays out, though. For obvious reasons.
I just love the "easy rest" on all of these ebay cars. I would like to see it make it to the end of the auction just so we could see what the "real" market value is but sadly I think it will be pulled before the ending and leave everyone to guess and discuss what the value truly is. I see it has the Super Sport wheel with trim ring as a spare. I am shocked that someone ordered a car with this much power and didn't opt for better breaks. Non power drum breaks to stop this heavy bullet.
Oh and my guess on value is low 20's it still will take $50k to restore it and when your done will it be worth 70-80k ? Not if its put back that color combo. Thats my opinion on it.
I agree this will probably happen. Ebay is a good way to advertise to a broader market, and I have purchased a vehicle outside of ebay. Got what I really wanted and paid what I felt was a fair price without having to overpay.
I'm posting a couple pictures of the engine of this car what is this a vacuum block under the heater hose going to the intake manifold I never saw that before is that a four-speed only part ??
