Does anyone know who makes the weld in 455 a-body oil pan baffle. The last one I got was from mike automotive machine , but I think there out of business, with no phone to contact purchase one

Do you sell just the baffle?

For those of us that can make one our self. Is there a shape or pattern that is preferred? I haven't got far enough into my build to see what shape it should be or exactly where is goes.

This is how I generally do a OEM pan. I have a pattern that I can scan and post.......you'll just need to get it to the right size when printing it out. The only issue with that is the pans are surprisingly different from pan to pan, (year to year). I've always had the suspicion that they had about a half of dozen different dies sets that were used when making these pans over the years, so.....................there's always some final trimming and fitting to do before they fit well.

27 years ago when I deepened my stock oil pan, ..... I made my own baffles and still have the templates.

Note: That was the first time I mig welded anything (and it shows), ... In fact I bought the small Lincoln 110 setup just for that pan.

Interesting I assumed all the OEM pans would be the same. Other then Riviera.

The baffles look easy enough to make.

It's got to done right....I had one that looked like a beautiful job but wouldn't drain back properly at high rpm and oil pressure would drop.

Absolutely, ..... That's why if you take a close look at my old pan, I had the reliefs around the rear baffle which helped the oil return as well as preventing air pocketing and cavitation upon high RPM acceleration. Also both front and rear baffles are installed tipped down to the pick up to help speed the return process to the sump. Never experienced pressure loss even at higher rpm, .... though that engine never saw over 6700 RPM.
