I recently upgraded to 4 wheel disc brakes and now I have the itch to put some new wheels in tires. I do not want to mini tub the car in anyway. Curious as to what sizes you guys have gone with for such year of car? Any info appreciated. Thanks

17x7 4”BS in front with 215/55/17 tires. 17x8 5.5 BS in rear with 235/50/17 tires. That leaves me 1/2” clearance on drivers rear, a little more on passenger rear. Just make sure to determine if your rear is centered. If not, one side or the other will be your determining factor for tire clearance.

Thanks... I stopped by a buddies shop that had some 20x8 sitting around to see if they would fit. Don't recall tire size, but they did fit. Now thinking about it, should have taken for spin to see if any rubbing would have occurred.

They did fit, I just did not take a spin to see if there were any rubbing.

I wouldn't be able to tell you as I never got around to doing the upgrade since my engine blew... So now focus is engine rebuild.

View attachment 419546 View attachment 419546 View attachment 419546 These Buick billet wheels are sold by circle racing in California 17 and 18 inch sizes. I bought the 17s. 235/55/17 rears with 5.5 BS 215/55/17 fronts with 4.5 BS. Simply the best looking Buick wheel period if the modern look is what your after.. Not cheap but worth it. Pm me if you need any other info or pics 20181105_160732.jpg 20181105_160654.jpg 20181105_160635.jpg

I have 17x7s on the front of mine and 18x9s on the back. Kept the fender skirts and no mods to the wheel wells. I just made sure the rear end was centered and changed to some nice tubular welded rear suspension arms with urethane bushings to make sure everything stayed in place. Never had a rub.

I got them from Newstalgia (Coker) although Summit also carries them. Rear is 18 x 11 with 295/40 and fronts are 17 x 8 with 245/50

These are 18x8 and 18x9 bandit wheels on my 66 Special. Running a 275/40 rear and a 255/40 front tire for now. I rolled the rear wheel lips for clearance and removed the top inner fender bolt in the front for tire rub. I’m going to scale it back to a 245 on the front though. While it turns good, it’s just to much tire without any other modifications that I’m not willing to do right now.
