I am building a wagon to tow my 67 skylark racecar, and it will have a LS3 (sorry guys) and a 4L80E. I will be using Skylark buckets and a console so my question is about using stock floor shifter with the 4L80E and making the pattern on the clear plexiglass line up properly with the shifter, and modify the shifter to shift properly. Appreciate your thoughts. Have the electronics for the trans.
You may have seen it before but shiftworks sells a kit to alter a factory shifter to work with a 4l80e this is the link: https://shiftworks.com/collections/...-shifter-conversion-kit?variant=2570606936085 They also have the complete shifter assembly if you want to save your original shifter: https://shiftworks.com/collections/buick-products/products/buick-shifter?variant=2376918695957
Thank you for the shiftworks post, I wss not aware they made that shifter! That is exactly what I am looking for, I think I will order the complete shifter and keep mine except for the knob as I read you have to re-use that. Thank you!! Lawrence
69abody are you talking about the tailshaft of the 4L80E to accept a manual speedo? I see that shiftworks also sells a new tailshaft but they need to know tire size and gear ratio of the rear end so it will work with the manual speedo
I was referring to the linkage rod that goes to steering column. 67 may not have it. Later years utilize it for shifter interlock and neutral safety switch. The floor shifter cable goes to trans but the rod goes to bellcrank which needs to move back to reach 4l80e location.
