I bought a pair of brand new headrests for my 70 GS when I restored it. My interior is pearl white, so I purchased the correct paint from Color Correct in New Jersey...they are the official interior paint/dye manufacturer for Legendary Auto Interiors. They actually call Legendary and get the correct dye lot formula after you order your paint from them. Bottom line: The first paint shop that sprayed them for me did NOT follow their instructions, and the paint flaked/checked in a few spots. I ended up finding a good set of original headrests [stupid expensive!], and had them correctly sprayed with Color Correct's paint. I'm asking $70 + shipping for the pair. They fit all 1968 to 1972 GM A Body bucket seats. SOLD
JH, thanks for replying. Sent reply to your PM with info for you to get the shipping quote and total for me. Thanks.
Just FYI, IIRC there was some sort of compound used in the reproduction headrests that bleeds out - hence paint will not stick to them. I also found good originals to paint because I don't like the look of the covers at all. Bottom line, the shop may have done everything right...
