I've decided to change things up a little. For once, Im going to treat myself to a brand new car. Ive been admiring the new Challengers a lot and renting that 392 R/T really sealed the deal for me. I really want one bad. My goal is to order a Plum Crazy 392 Hemi Scat Pack with a stick by the late summer, early fall. Well, that's the plan anyway.

Ive also decided to let a couple cars go this year. Im going to slim down the collection by two, maybe three cars. I'll probably be selling the black 71 GS, the 72 GS 350 convertible and maybe either the beater or the green Riviera. Im also planning on bringing a truckload of parts to this years Cecil event. Don't ask what yet as I haven't figured out whats going and whats staying. My advice? Bring money. Its just getting to be too much. Ive been at this non stop since I was a teenager. I want to simplify my life a little and get things under control.

So we'll see. The lynch pin is going to be selling the black car. I bought that car when I was 22. I'll be 52 in May. Havent figured out what I should ask for it. Should I sell it as it as? - as a heavy street car or turn it back to bone stock as sell it that way. It would make a hell of a GSE car at the Nationals

I’d like to see the 71 and 72. You will love the Scat Pack, great car for trips too.

Anyone want to simply start throwing together 430s and 455s with their old parts, run them on a stand, and get rid of them? It’s much easier to sell a running engine than a stack of parts

The charger is nice, but the purple Challenger is more of a panty dropper IMO

Prediction.. Mid life Crisis... I am 52, and know the feeling..

I don't see this happening.. Jason getting bent over at the stealership is just not in his DNA.

There will be no dealer that will accept Jason's offer for one of these new cars.

History suggests they his desire for one of these, will not outweigh his physiological/pathological need to get a "Jason Cook" price.

He is already hedging his bet.. if he sells the black car, the pile of money that will be available to make dozens of "Jason Cook deals" will be too powerful of an aphrodisiac, and certainly not something to be blown on a vehicle that every Tom, Dick, and Harry can, and do, own.

That's my story, and I am sticking to it.

Now, that being said, I could see him buying one used...at a "Jason Cook" type of deal.. but new, off the lot??.. never happen.

    :D

You could also skip the Mopar and go to this other dark side

Around here, the Corvette crowd is as old as Mooney and they all have 30 year old girlfriends

Little story: I have a client that is of advancing years; we're about the same age. In the last 4-5 years or so, me married a much, MUCH, younger lady. He and I were talking one day and the subject turned to his new wife. I kidded him a little and said, "what, you going to be a daddy again?". He replied: Well, as long as I can keep up!!".....
