I feel like the title of this thread should be changed to "***TA Buick 350 Alum Heads Speculation, Conjecture, and Wishful Thinking***" because there's way more of that than any updates. Just sayin.....
Did the NA dyno here two weeks ago.. no issues, the EFI/DIS worked great, easy to tune.. Did good for an 8-1 engine with a small flat tappet cam.. 345TQ and 350 HP. fully ported iron heads and early SP-3 with a ton of port matching work. Billet coil pack holders from board member Gallagher.. Working on charge and down piping now for the twin turbos, then back to the dyno.. JW
Looks great. Would like to know what was evolved to convert to EFI and DIS. Just picked up a 350 block to build to replace the one currently in my car. Not totally sure what direction I'm going in. Depends on the work needed on the bottom end of the block I bought. Looks good to the naked eye, but looks can be deceiving. Hoping to just freshen it up put a SP3 on it and wait for the aluminum heads. If not fuel injection may have to be on the back burner for a while.
Steve, I will go into that system in detail when I do the buildup thread for this engine, after we dyno it with the turbos in place. JW
Good wires, no issues.. so far.. That will be tough to do in this application, the wires have to be wrapped and routed to not be fried on the turbo's, wastgates and downpipes that are right there.. you will see that when we post the pics with the hair dryers on it.. JW
I don't think its a flow kooler pump unless it's a really new design. they use a GMB water pump setup with their own Flow kooler impeller design. I have one sitting on shelf with a bad seal, (it leaks out the weep hole). Josh
We're currently working out the rocker geometry to machine the bolt holes in the heads for stud mount rockers. If you didn't want to run a shaft mount rocker, you can machine the rocker towers off and install chevy rockers.
Correct. The bolt holes for the studs will be in the heads, you would just need to machine the rocker bar towers off. We can provide that service.
