That's how I do body removal/installation by myself on occasion it balances out almost perfect Will be starting the minimal bodywork needed this week. Hope to have the floor pan all cleaned and sound deadened this week as well. Also plan to put our 71 Stage 1 4speed up on the rotisserie since its now empty
Good luck on your build, I think it's cool you have had it scents high school. I have had my 72 GS 350 scents high school to,19 years ago.
The "Important Parts" ha,.. using the guts of a new tach in the original housing and faceplate, had to use the lens bezel out of the reproduction, which surprisingly fit perfect and will all go together really nice
Rear spoiler had been replaced with the first aftermarket replacement made to the 1970 spoiler dimensions, really rare piece according to Duane, not as good as the original but second best I suppose. It needs some love but nothing I can't handle. Grill is a NOS, RH inner fender is a NOS, and Fan Shroud is a NOS. Wheels are original "7.0's" they are decent but not as nice as I'd like but will do I reckon. I've only had two "WG" wheels in my life and they were drilled for screws and in terrible shape. Getting really antsy but just short on time
Can't forget the original 71/72 front spoiler, not correct for a 70, but as close as one can get and better than aftermarket

Started last Sat getting the body ready and laid some arctic white few hours ago, I'll do the black on the firewall and cowl next weekend. Hope to have some steady updates on this one Ppg DBC base DC4000 clear 3cts no buffing on this one just nib a few dust particles out and its good
The upper dash is the same paint as the firewall and cowl, sprayed at the same time just lower psi and about 16~18in away, looks identical to the factory stuff imo
I just use a "hot rod black" urethane single stage for under hood, and frames. For the dash I'll do like custom clear mix with more sheen
Ignore the welds on the speaker bracket, the bottle was all but empty and the donor metal I used had some kind of coating that would not cone off ha but it will serve its purpose just fine. I've probably made 6 or so of these front speaker brackets but I like this one the most, very supportive and easy to remove I'll be spraying body schultz around the heater box after I make sure everything is good to go with the heat system
Hugger, please keep the detail pics coming! In addition, could you possibly post part numbers for the black paint products you use? I’m getting ready to pull the body off the frame and cleaning the firewall/ floors/ etc and want the proper sheen.... Thanks and great job!!!!
