How many of you have had, or continue to have unexplainable events in your home?
Our most recent was this morning, a gathering of pennies lined up on one of the dog beds in front of the TV, about 20/30 of 'em, no penny wrapper to be found, and they were clean and dry, so they weren't barfed up.
We've had sounds of doors slamming, banging on the back door in the winter, but no foot prints in the snow.
Noises from the roof and attic.
We'd think we were just hearing things, but the dogs react to these noises too.
When we moved in, I was finding all sorts of religious items ( crucifixes, statues, misselettes, etc) in the weirdest places, such as the top of the foundation wall in the basement, in the garage, on the basement wall, etc.
I haven't moved ANY of the stuff, in the garage theres a beautiful statue of the Mother Mary, on a shelf, I've NEVER even touched it, Im hesitant to move or remove any of this, I was raised Catholic, but Im not a practicing Catholic, I believe in God and all the religious history, and I also believe in spirits, both good and bad.
I just find these occurrences interesting, I don't feel threatened, or scared, these happenings just go to show theres more to our existence than meets the eye, and I respect that:cool:

when it comes to afterlife guest. it's best to not go looking to much, never know what one can come cross. I wish you the best with your house guests, but I would also have an exit plan and a line in the sand where if its crossed you and your family leaves. sometime these things start small and grow

Anyone die in the house? Realtors I think are supposed to disclose that to a buyer.

We had a ghost (good) in our last house, my daughter talks about it to this day, nobody died in it previous to us but I’m happy to be out of there. We built the house we are in now and nothing out of the ordinary happens that I don’t cause. I’ll probably be the one haunting the owners of it in the future.....

I don't really partake in the belief that this stuff exists, but that's not to say I wouldn't come around if it started happening to me. My wife is a believer in the spiritual world, and she burns sage around the house to "cleanse" it of bad spirits.

I do find it very intriguing, though.

You guys won't believe this but I'll tell you anyway. This happened in a house we were renting 10 years ago or so. The wife and I were arguing about something and she apologized and said I was right.

Strangest damn thing that ever happened to me.

Mark, I don't remember if I told you this before but my religious upbringing and current beliefs match yours to a "t". I generally don't believe in ghosts and such, but I have also lived in houses that have strange things happen, too. The house I'm in now was owned by an elderly couple, and both have passed. The neighbors have told me they were good people. I've had windows open for no reason in the winter time, with no footprints in the snow leading up to them so it had to have happened from the inside, but no one else is in the house upon my shotgun packing house check. My drier door will open and slam shut when I put a load of laundry in sometimes and I'll have to go back down into the basement to get it going again. My girlfriend swears she has seen the towels just come off the rack and onto the floor while she's in the bathroom. Its never scared me, and I've said out loud that I'm not there to mess with their house that they loved so much, and I really like it here, too. It doesn't happen as often anymore after almost 5 years here, just sometimes I think so they can let me know they're still around...... I always tell people: I'm fine with it, as I've never heard of anyone dying from a ghost.

Both my mother and father died in the house I own. My mother grew up as a Catholic but we did not practice it growing up but she ran the rules the same way. The house was built by my great grandmother and my brother lives in it now and as far as I know nothing has ever happened there. I lived there alone after my mother passed and I never experienced anything but you never know what can happen. Maybe my parents are happy my brother lives there. The house is 104 years old now.

Many years ago 33 yrs. I got married Bought my house. Old couple lived here their whole life. Good ol fashion people. My daughter 3 yrs old. So the 3rd year my daughter would play in the basement. And when things sound creepy in conversation. I would ask my Daughter who she was talking too. Her answer always was ... That man. More than couple times. One Day shortly after. I’m in the basement. And in the corner of my eye. peripheral vision i seen a black/ white flash of Norman Vogler . The man that use to live here. And yes in the basement. I can smell him for a moment like it went through my body. Like i sense him. Really freaked me out. 2 weeks later his son knocked on my door. Who i never met. And told me he was there to locate his dog that he buried years ago. And take his pet to the pet cemetery. I asked him how his Dad was doing. He said he passes 2 1/2 weeks before. I was freaking out inside. My head. So i have no doubt. Ghosts happen for a reason.

A college professor was giving a lecture in a lecture hall with about 150 students. He asked how many believed in ghosts. About 4/5 of the students raised their hands. Then he asked how many had seen a ghost. About 1/2 raised their hands. He then asked how many ever talked to a ghost and about a dozen hands went up. Finally he asked if anyone ever had sex with a ghost. Only one hand at the very back of the auditorium went up. The professor asked him to come forward to the stage and microphone to elaborate. When the student got to the microphone the professor said, Akmed please tell everyone what it is like to have sex with a ghost. Akmed said i'm sorry professor. I thought you said goats.

I had asked the neighbor awhile back when we had that banging at the back door in the winter, he said " Funny you mention that banging, the original owners (Italian couple, didn't speak good English) of the house, the husband would make wine, and come over to my house, and bang on the back door to let me know he had a bottle of wine for me, he'd bang on the door 4 times"
Some years ago, I was going to drive the GS to work, I open the garage, get in the GS, its STONE DEAD!

I’ve been in several houses where weird stuff happened.
One house the lights would turn back on when shut off. A fully loaded book shelf was moved 6” from a wall without disturbing any of the books or nick knacks. An old ornamental fire extinguisher tipped over in front of us... no one was within 5ft of it but the best story ...
My 8yr old daughter wanted to be woken up at exactly when she was born on her birthday. We said no it was too late at night. She was born At 10:06pm PST. At 11:06 our kitchen radio started playing at full volume. Everyone was in bed. We were living in a MST zone!!
After that my wife’s cousin who is a priest visited us and blessed the house.
That was it no more weird episodes

We live in the house my parents lived in, but they didn't die there. We've had several strange things happen.

My wife has a crystal perfume bottle, very heavy, with a heavy crystal stopper. It sits on her dresser. One morning while she was in the bathroom, she heard a noise. She stepped into the bedroom to investigate, and found the stopper laying on the floor. The bottle was still upright on the dresser.

She has 4 candlelabra on the mantle. The mantle has a 1" lip on it, so nothing on the mantle could slide off because of the lip. One morning she found one of the candlelabra on the floor.

I'll be sitting in my home office in my recliner using my iPad. Out of the corner of my eye, I'll see a shadow go past my door down the hallway.

We've woke up in the morning to find a certain light in the front room on. This is not a touch lamp, it has a physical switch. There was no power outage, since the microwave was not blinking.

My mom always used Chanel No. 5 perfume. I bought many bottles of it over they years for Christmas presents. My sense of smell is not that good, but my wife swears she can smell Chanel in the house sometimes. We've lived here for 7 years, so it is not something that is residual.

None of this scares me, and my whole life I've said I never believe in ghosts. But this is certainly interesting.

My good friend inherited his grandfather's house. It was pretty well run down but for a group of kids just out of high school it was a great place to party. He always said weird things happened there.

There was a natural gas stove that he rarely used. The igniter had been broken for years and he had to light it with a lighter or a match. One particularly late night we were very drunk and rowdy. Suddenly we could smell smoke. We thought the place was burning. Turns out we had a pizza box on the stove and the stove lit up. He hadn't used the stove for weeks prior..

I was living with my Mom and she passed away at home. Soon afterwards, I would be able to smell flowers in the air and cool breezes would pass by me when I was sitting in the living room. One day, I was looking for the letter opener and could not find it anywhere. I went downstairs and when I came back upstairs, the letter opener was sitting on the center couch cushion, perfectly lined up with the line pattern on the fabric. A visiting friend misplaced a spare set of car keys and I told him about what had been going on. He called out to my Mom "Ok if you know where my keys are please help me find them." A couple of days later I had taken her car in for an oil change and I found the missing keys in the middle of the back seat!
When I was getting ready to put the place up for sale, I had help with painting the interior and my Mom's bedroom door would randomly slam when someone other than me was there. There were no open windows or fans on.
