Drove the auction today and will be driving the next two days......NBCSN will be televising it live from noon til 4pm. If you are watching and they stick the camera in to take a shot....look for a big ugly bald guy in a bright green hat giving the peace sign.....that will be me....yours truly giving a shout out to all my V8Buick friends. Lots of good deals today and several Buicks crossing the block tomorrow...... Peace WildBill p.s....a couple of really nice LeSabre 4-doors sold today.....
Wow awesome Bill Do me a favor and if ya can check out the 70 Riviera that goes across the block with no reserve. Lot W12
Took a look.....nice solid Buick......interior is not stock.......u gonna bid? I can go look real close and give you a better description.....W12 means it is the 12th car across the block.......probably before 11am eastern.....LMK Peace WildBill
No not going to bid. Just caught my eye. Just doing a little research. Thanks for the offer. Most cars look great on TV Thanks
Bill, if you can keep an eye on the '67 gold Riv. to see what it goes for, T19. Also, I'm really interested in the black '67 Riv GS, an older resto, F229. I'm not really excited by the x-frame for my type of use but that car looks sharp and looks to be in great shape. I was almost thinking about trying to bid but the way they have the internet and phone bidding to qualify really throws me for a loop. Too many big hoops to jump through. If it goes for anything under $30K I'm not going to be happy. Is the auction live streamed somewhere? https://www.mecum.com/lots/SC0519-371638/1967-buick-riviera/ https://www.mecum.com/lots/SC0519-371597/1967-buick-riviera-gs/
Mike, the auction is live streamed from the Mecum home page. You can also check prices about 30 minutes after the car goes across the block on the Mecum site. You just have to create an id and login. https://www.mecum.com/
Good info. I just checked and I missed the first Riv by a few minutes. I checked in at T23. I would have liked to see how the bids went.
Watched a little bit yesterday, saw a seventy something Matador with 22 actual miles! Bid only got up to 14k, way below reserve. Rare does not make valuable like some people think.
Bill, I will be up there in Indiana in two weeks (June 1st) for the AACA grand national show at the Auction site in Auburn. Should be a great show. Come on by if you can. I will be there with the 66 Skylark, and a good friend will be there with a 65 GS .
Hey Bill if your reluctantly forced to drive a Chevy, try sliding into this one.......https://www.mecum.com/lots/SC0519-370025/1969-chevrolet-chevelle-pro-street/ Looks super badass and might be fun to drive. BTW.....I've seen and heard this car in person and let me tell ya........It is BADASS!
Thanks guys.....what a busy day!Did not have much time to check out all the Buicks.....that group of 30's-40's cars brought some good $$......Yeah.....22,000 original miles on that Givenchy Edition Lincoln....super nice ride. Also took to the block a yellow 72 GS 455 Convertible and a 87 GN...among other cars.....could not believe this...a 72 Blazer...cherry red with white top......bid to 60k and did not sell.....so many cars.... what fun charity work and all the $$ paid for the drivers goes to rescue missions in my area. Then about 5pm a front blew thru and the power was out a couple times for a couple minutes.....rained like hell for 10 minutes ...after it was over, back to business. Brian.....i will look you up.....i was planning to check that show out. Hey Dave and Joe......thanks for posting the screen captures of me ! I got invited to drive any Mecum auction.....i may drive Kissimmee next year ! Peace my friends ! WildBil
