Would anyone know of the length of the hose from the check valve on the booster to the pipe mounted at the back of motor. My 69 manual only lists part number no lengths. I have a correct NOS piece I believe but it looks too long.
Just get a long enough piece for it to go up in an arch so it just fits without too much slack or being too tight. It’s pretty easy that way.
Just put it on so it fits in an arc like my picture. Not too tight and not too much slack. Elbow on booster should be about 10 o’clock
Hey Dave... Thats OEM from Flint in April, 1964 ! That was on a V6/stick with 33,000 original miles. Unfortunately when Johnny got his new tool box for Christmas one of the first things he "restored" was the plumbing on the engine. Note the twisted fitting at the carb. Actually, the pipe probably went under the V6 gas rod, but the 455 was that much bigger(taller) that the throttle needed a new rod and repositioned. As much as I like to use OEM stuff, (hoses, fittings etc.) we need to be like a chameleon and adapt LOL. ws
I agree! A lot of subtle changes were made in the 66-67 production run due to FMVSS stuff. Most for the better. Throttle rod replaced with a cable, single master cylinder replaced with a dual, 4 way flashers added, side marker lights added (1968 model), along with front parking lights "ON" with headlamps, collapsible steering columns, more dash padding, and even "more blunt" shift and signal levers, to name a few. If anyone can ad more, Im always curious about that stuff. Most were actually for the better from a safety standpoint. ws
That line should not go over the intake.By the way,you have it into the carb,it should go into the intake manifold,on a bracket that screws on to the intake, the line then should go back towards the firewall and on to the booster.I think you know this,so why not correct it.Bruno.
