I have the fat bar off my 78' Formula 400 project installed under my 70" Skylark . Great for spirited street driving, but I remove bolt and bushings etc. from the driver's side a-arm when at the track. Jim
I believe that any 70-79 F-body front sway bar will bolt to any 66-72 A-body with minimal effort. Usually you will need longer end links to help clear the tie rod end adjusters and I often move them so that the bolts are at the bottom to further reduce possible contact. Usually, I will get a set of aftermarket polyurethane frame mounts as they are stiffer and have better access to the bolt holes. You can use allen head bolts or header bolts if clearance is tight.
You will PROBABLY need to use ALLEN head bolts to install on the frame, not quite enough room for a socket to fit a standard hex bolt on my 71 vert...
I have a lead on one of these sway bars here in NZ . Any issues fitting one to a '65 Skylark or just suited to later cars?
Lloyd, since you're in NZ, perhaps this is of interest. I used HQ-WB Holden front bar on my '69 Skylark. The chassis mounts took a little fabrication, but it's not that big a job. I'd be happy to forward some photos if you're interested. Cheers, Chris.
Thanks for that Chris. I know they dipped into the US parts bin frequently - I might just have to have a look at what's out at my friends place amongst his Street Stock spares
