There's an old mill near me that I always thought would be a good spot for some photos.

Great spot for a shoot! Too bad the buildings didn’t survive as well as your car.

Fun fact: back in 2009 the rear of the building off in the distance (in the first picture) was used as the Nazi work camp flashback scene in the Scorcese film Shutter Island.

I was an extra Nazi soldier for a few days - my fleeting encounter with Hollywood.

Correct Corbin clamps and ribbed heater hoses.

Note: make sure you have the right tool for these clamps or they'll fight you the WHOLE way.

What’s the right tool? What’s the wrong tool?

The wrong tool is all the ones I used until I decided on the vise grips.

The right tool is the pliers made for this particular job. Which is actually a thing.

Daves69 Too many cars too work on

Now you need to get the correct clamps on the bypass hose.

    Yep!

I would have done it last night but I was running out of patience.

Not sure if I disturbed one of the caps (blocking coolant from the heater core) the other night but unfortunately, I think it's time to install the new heater core.

    Pray for me... 20190727_175636.jpg 20190727_175621.jpg

That stinks! At least you have a good one to install.

Don't let this leak sit too long if the carpet is wet. Lift the carpet up & feel underneath. IF it's wet get it outa there. Anti-freeze rots metal pretty badly. You DON'T Want to replace the floor.

The carpet wasn't wet, oddly enough.

I'm going to tear into this next week.

NOT ON TOP, BUT UNDERNEATH the jute padding. It can leak & NOT GET THE CARPET WET. Pull the sill plate & lift up the carpet.

While the heater box is out and ready for installation with a fresh core, I had one of those "while I'm at it moments" and pulled out the eyesore of a Harrison radiator.

It ain't perfect but it's a HELL of a lot better than it was.

    1972Mach1 Just some M.M.O.G. guy.....

Wait a minute.... I'm calling B.S...... You started a "since you're there" project and actually stopped at just painting the radiator?!?!?! Shouldn't you have the interior gutted by now and the gas tank pulled?
