Protect thread. I will constantly be needing advice from my big bros to get this thing rolling.....

    1963 Lesabre wagon.

    Intended drive train?
Olds 425. Swith Pitch 400 trans.

    Parts needed?
Interior back panels. Rear fold up seats.

    Budget?
    Hahahaha

    Paint/body?
Body looks strait, but who know if body filler lays underneath. Paint is a temporary thing, door jams not sprayed and they look old with light surface rust. Will need patch panels on floor in the front or a big cut out, either way it's gotta get done and will be stronger.
Most chrome is rechromed but not all.
Future paint ideas are blacked out, black with stock chrome, a bright red, two toned some with unknown color. To far away to know. Windshield and tail gate window need to be installled.

    Inferior. No typo
Im thinking, been thinking something stoopid like keeping OG dash, steeringwheel, seat hard ware and doing all the panels in a modern way, possibly taking it off a 2000 to 2019 Buick and get the seats done ( by me) same color/ texure. Or old school two tone.

    Wheels.
    Im getting cragers this week.

I like that you refer to the inside of the car as the "Inferior."

I have owned cars like that too.

    20190323_175210.jpg 4 Western's and 3 Crager SS's.
The 2 cragers on the left are equal in sizw while the 3rd one is taller. Is that how they came?
    Got it all for $100.

How should I go attacking this?
    What's a good grit to use? Wet/dry?
Can I use any spray paint on it after? 1564023123901565375671977604723.jpg

Wire wheel on a drill would probably be easiest to start and knock the big stuff off. Are you bringing it down to bare metal? If so- 80 to 220 should do it. If not bringing to bare metal, do the entire firewall with 400 dry, self etch bare metal spots, primer seal everything and paint it. You can use all spray cans. Try and find duplicolor brand. Sprays much more even and drys faster than rustoleum/krylon

Cool thanks! I'll go wire wheel shopping soon. All I have is an impact but I'll make it work somehow.

Should I use a coarse or fine wire wheel brush?

It shouldn’t matter either way. I usually grab the variety pack from harbor freight for like 8.99

Whatever you think will work best for getting around that heater core opening :)

I'm going to take this piece off and put it on the shelf. What's it called so I can label it? It on the bottom right of the firewall. 15641143622568828061903909591871.jpg

I changed the title of the thread because I realized that I will always be needing help and advice and can not do it with out the Buick and Olds community. So stay tuned as I ask questions and get dirty.

Working on the Buickmobile tonight and before I hoped in the engine bay i seen a spider web so I sprayed all the small spaces and look who came out to say hi before she died. 20190726_215509.jpg

Update: I sprayed it some more and it fled. I searched that muda$%ka out and killed it.

These are pictures under the hood and inside the wheel well.
1.How would I attack this task? Same as the fire wall?
    2. Is a wire brush to coars for places I cant reach with the drill?
3.How about the frame and hard metals like the control arm vs softer metal like under the wheel well, should I give them the same treatment?

4.Should i take everything down to metal and recoat?

5.Should i get new control arms? What other suspension parts are mandatory to buy new.

6.Where do I source the bushings and rubbers?
