I spotted this today when taking a day trip to Maine with the wife. It was alone in a lot. I have to admit it’s a hell of a good looking car. Stacked headlights are way cool. 66 I believe.
Were plenty of seagulls around. Not sure I would have left the top down. Come back to a nice surprise.
Yessir, that is a '66. I never liked the '65-'67s before, but they are definitely growing on me, especially since their prices are still reasonable. Looks like a 390 car by the fender emblems.
You could get all the V8s down to a 289 in the 500s, I forgot about the 352 but they had the same 3 bar emblem as well, so could be one of those also.
Yeah, in'66 you could get a 352 & it came with a 4bbl. carb. The 390 came with a 2bbl. carb. Go figurea.
They were available with 2 and 4 barrels on the 390, Tom. Actually 3 390s available, one 2 barrel and a pair of different 4 barrel variants.
The title alone draws you in, nice and Ford in the same sentence lol. Does look like a nice one though
And even with that the 390 would walk all over the 352. I had one in high school with a 352 and there wasn't a 327 Impala on the planet that couldn't beat me. It was humiliating for a 17 year old. It's also the reason I didn't continue to be Ford guy but I still think they're nice looking cars. The `66 had a 7 litre 428 option available which would be a better choice if a person could find one.
Pretty car... I would not have parked it next to anyone else though. Cars were sooo cool and sooo much better looking then. Had a 67 four door that rotted so bad the frame split, dad used bed rails to hold it together for two years. The things we did back then to keep a $100 car going. Mikey
