Ight so does anyone know anyone that has the resources to get some correct woodgrain kits made? This is ridiculous its 2019 and we can't get an accurate reproduction of something that was made 50 damn years ago?? I just got my set from the outfit in AZ that sells on Ebay,..absolute pure garbage in so many different ways,...and I waited 3 weeks for them maybe even 4.

Everyone said they were garbage as well,..I honestly haven't delt with Cars.inc since they tried to tell me their "455" fender badges were correct and I was stupid,...when In reality they sent me Pontiac 455 emblems,...and refused to admit it or pay the shipping back to them

Ethan, is the set you got from the eBay vendor I suggested? If so, I’m sorry. The set I got from him looks pretty good.

I believe Greg Setter made the best ones. He sold them for quite a few years.

I don't know if he still makes them or not, but if not then it's another example of the attrition we have seen with Buick reproduction venders.

Now if you wanted this 10-12 years ago..............................................

No doubt Greg made the best repops. If Greg is no longer reproducing these, and I don't think he is, it would be nice if he would pass along his process/materials used to someone who is willing to make these again.

I have purchased Phil’s, TPP’s and Greg Setter’s in the past. Phil’s was very good, Greg’s was the best and as usual the Parts Place was absolute garbage REM stuff that they wouldn’t take back.

I used Greg's in my car and they were very nice. If they are going to be done, it would be nice to get them done right. Recently, someone here mentioned there were 2 different wood grains used for different years. I know that's true for the 442's. I have an NOS GS piece or pieces of wood grain here. I bought it as a reference. I don't know if I can find it.

This is the one I was directed to buy, and it is the best by far. I tried ones both by CARS and TPP. Both were crap. I used the ebay one on Mike's X

If cars is worse than the ebay "speedway automotive " ill just be running the original faded and cracked

Some say "Deice" and others say "defrost" not sure when they changed that

There is attrition in old car parts vendors period. Many of the companies that make antique parts are small family businesses that have been going for years. The principals get older and either die or retire; nobody wants to buy the business and another vendor is gone. We are beginning to have Model T parts issues, and there are a hell of a lot more Ts then specialty Buicks.

Didn't Briz make some dash appliques for the Riviera and Big cars? Maybe he has some connections to move in the right direction?

Briz made at least black appliques for A-bodies. I’m not even sure if A-bodies came with a black applique or not, or those clusters and radio bezels were just painted. However, Briz puts a big disclaimer saying they are of good quality, but not show-worthy. I used a set and found them to be very good. I see CARS lists black ones now too.

So what is the hold-up with Greg S making more? Does he need a sponsor? “Somebody” needs to quit monkey-farting around and get this done. Has anyone been in contact with Greg lately about this?
