Taking the new 73 Century to the Pure Stock drags this year. Giving the 72 a rest. Car has not been to the track before. Lets play guess the ET and MPH. Winner to receive 1 ataboy. Car details in case you have not read about it. Has a reman engine. Cam and compression ratio unknown. It has on average 145 psi per cylinder. Q-jet, pertronix, dual snorkle air filter, 2 1/2" exhaust, TH350- no shift kit, 2.73 gears and 255/60/15 tires. Probably 4100lbs. It's fully stock with AC. If you need more details just ask. I will hold my guess till the end so as to not influence anyone but will say it's no rocketship. The race is Sept. 13 and 14.
Have to ask, is the 2.73 a posi? That low number gear or not you should get good tire spin if it's a peg leg..
I figured 175 HP SAE net is about 140 at the rear wheels. the Dragtimes calculator figures at 4100 lbs, 140 RWHP goes 17.953 @ 75.92 MPH. That is probably ideal conditions though.
Yeah. I was going with what Stephen was hitting with that '75 Electra at Bowling Green a few years back. Love seeing a big boat get up on plane! (One of Briz's pics...)
No pictures until you guess. 2.73 with no posi. hardly spins the 1 tire on the street with the 28" tall tires on it now. I've not even put the 255/60's on it yet. Would expect it to help the axle ratio. They prep the track pretty good. I'm not expecting wheel spin to be a problem.
Derek you're killing me. It's not a pedal car. By the weigh (pun) I am guessing at the weight so you guys using a program could be a little off.
^^^ Curb weight seems to be 3,900. Heavier than his 3,570 Impala. Steve tunes well...... 15.8 @ 86 mph
