What is this for? Has an electrical connection on 1 side and looks like 2 vacuum lines coming out the other side. Says "AC Delco" on the side. It's a black plastic rectangular box on top of the drivers side valve cover near the back of the engine. This is the Olds 307 engine.
After looking at it again it does not appear to be connected to the cruise control but more to the EGR valve, is this an EGR module?
OK I will try to find a better pic but here's a start, this is a pic I found on the web. it's on the rear of the drivers side valve cover with pink and green wires going into it, to the right of the plug wire holder https://cdn.dealeraccelerate.com/mankato/1/1642/84626/1920x1440/1984-buick-riviera
Here's a good pic it's the black U-shaped box on the rear driver side with the pink/green wires attached https://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/w...©2016-Murilee-Martin-The-Truth-About-Cars.jpg
That is what acts as a computer. It controls timing and emissions and I believe also is tied in with the feed back carb. That car is a nightmare of hoses and wires. After I replaced the engine in mine I took it to the Buick dealer and had all of that replaced and correctly routed. 400$
Is this it? https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=934624&cc=1021857&jsn=411 How about this? https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=10061856&cc=1021857&jsn=414
If I had it to do over again I would delete all that power robbing crap off the top of the engine. Drop in a regular HEI and a non feedback Q jet and be done with it.
That is hard to say. You need to trace all the connections to that box. You have the car, I can't see in the picture.
