Looking for a set of drum spindles with stock ride height in good condition. Parts need to be shipped to 77338 Humble, TX. Thanks for making offers.
I have a set of drum spindles. No pics at this time but they can be yours for 65 bucks. They would likely fit in a $20 usps flat rate box. I could ship within the next day or so too.
Thank you guys. Here is the potential obstacle: I live in Germany, so I can not send you a check. I could pay using PayPal, or I could wire you the money directly to your bank account. The TX-address is a warehouse where I consolidate some stuff to be put in a sea container and shipped to Germany. The warehouse can not do any repacking, so your packaging must be sturdy enough to survive the whole journey. I can not expect that used parts are somewhat "certified", so I trust you guys that you only ship parts which you would use in your own car. Hauling the stuff to Germany is quite expensive, so my potential loss would be by far greater than just the cost of the parts. That is why I am not going to start bargaining. I rather spend some bucks more with the ease of mind that I will get parts which will work from the get go. The parts need to arrive in TX no later than Nov. 20th. So I do hope, that in spite of above someone is still willing to workout a deal with me. Thank you!
Unfortunately the spindels from 436'Skylark do not fit. Working my way thru in the order of time of postings . Right now I am in contact with Brian.
Believe BT and AZchevs are ahead of myself. PM if still looking and it gets to my offer. Dave S southern NM
I did think that you found those a while back.In case you need them I should have a set,I just saw one side yesterday,I should have the other side. These would be from a 70-72 Skylark,GS.If interested, send me a PM. Bruno,
what was the difference/issue of the 2 different DRUM spindles ? was it the diameter of the lower 2 bolt holes for steering arms ? thanks for our future reference
Not sure about the upper hole size, if the differentiation was really drum vs. disc. Drum spindles have a thick lug, where disc spindles have a thin lug. It appears to me that the hole size could be either or. Maybe depending on production year and/or brand (Buick, Chevy,....).
You can machine the lug down and drill the hole to the proper size to convert them to disc spindle. It's actually pretty easy to do with a Bridgeport. I think it's a good alternative to a Chinese spindle.
Yes easy work to do in your garage. IF you have the correct high dollar machine just sitting at your disposal
Thanks, can't wait to start with the conversion, but the car is stuck in storage for another 2 weeks. Killing some time with little stuff until then. First polishing, second painting the letters same color as the car.
