Hey everybody, I am trying to colour match the interior of my 1972 Buick Riviera. I have posted about this previously and I know that it can be a bit of a minefield. I have a Sandalwood interior and I was looking at getting vinyl from Distinctive Industries. Has anybody sourced vinyl from them for this interior and this year Buick. If so, what colour did you get from their chart: http://distinctiveindustries.com/catalog/vinyl-color-chart
Yes, I can get samples sent out but I wondered if somebody had already had a successful match. That would at least give me a definite sample to request.
For light interior colors you often either change all the pieces or use a dye to get individual pieces to match. Due to exposure and the passage of time, an original interior is likely no longer the exact color it was when new. Plus dye lots for the same color differ.
Understood, I thought that UV damage and age has probably played a part. I'll get a few different samples that I think will be close in that case. I may contrast and match the dashboard/carpet instead of the seats.
You will also need to get the correct grain. Have you checked with SMS? Only place I will deal with for interior fabric/vinyl https://smsautofabrics.com/?gclid=C...c4UfwBZ_Ay4VYWRScT7n7nEWZZq4PwFRoCDIYQAvD_BwE
Hey, thanks for the pointer. I was aware of the grain and apparently it is madrid, which is on the link. I will check out SMS, thanks very much for the link.
